What to Expect

   Your surgeon marks the treatment areas with you in a standing position. The most appropriate liposuction technique is selected for each area. A compression garment fitting may be conducted at this appointment.

   Tumescent solution is infiltrated into the treatment area to reduce bleeding and provide local anesthesia. Fat is then removed via small cannulas through tiny incisions (typically 3–5mm). General anesthesia or deep sedation is used for larger treatment areas.

   A compression garment must be worn for 4–6 weeks. Initial swelling makes results hard to assess — final contour is visible at 3–6 months. Bruising resolves within 2–3 weeks. Light walking is encouraged from day 1 to reduce clot risk.
